The Lovely Bones

My newest fascination. The Lovely Bones. I am very interested in watching this take on Alice Sebold's novel, so much so that i began reading it myself.
The story revolves around Susie Salmon, a 14 year old girl who is murdered, leaving nothing but her spirit to watch over her crumbling family from the dwindling comfort that is her heaven...
Stories of misortune draw me in simply because i desperately seek retribution and some form of justice to be given to those who create it. It doesn.t always come but i always look for it...
Though some parts o the story sadden and disturb me...
so far, the fascination hasn.t left...

what do you think?

Gobble Gobble

It.s Turkey Day weekend down here in the states which means i.ll finally have more time to continue blogging and posting up random stuff that randomly interests me.
Also, i.ve been given an award =O that i am extremely {insert word thats is happier than happy} to recieve and will post more information about in a later post.
I promise i.m back for real this time.... you know... in case you care =]

Walking A Mile In Their You Know Whats...

Shoes ofcourse.

I have a project for one of my University classes that involves me doing something not expected of me by myself or anyone else. At first i was a bit confused, until my teacher brought up an example of someone deciding to go veagan for a week to see what it was like for a friend of theirs. "Oh so basically you want me to walk a mile in someone elses shoes?"
Precisely =).
So originally i wanted to try imitating my roommate who is a different religion than me to see what it as like. But then i thought, "How terribly cliche." So i wracked my brain for awhile and decided to try shedding my couch potato exterior and try becoming a health nut for a week. Only eating healthy foods {bye bye pizza and french fries =( } and hitting the gym everyday for the entire week. My roommate pitched the idea and i thought it was perfect for me. I could use some discipline, the impending doom of a failing grade if i don.t get off my butt is a great motivator.
Another thought crossed my mind during all this brainstorming.
What would you choose to do if you had to walk a mile in someone elses shoes?

To both my open and secret followers and absolutely any passersby, feel free to leave a comment answering the question. I.m itching to know what you think... not literally. that would be weird.

Silhouette Show

I think this is more of an Amazingly Amusing Art Find.

Wilhelm Staele's Silhouette Masterpiece Theatre is creative, artistic and humurous {a dangerously hilarious combination} you can even buy prints of is amusing art. I went through each picture on his one page blog and couldn.nt help but to leave with a smile. I hope you.ll do the same.

Enjoy.

Amazing Art Find

I found this artist online the other day and i loved what i saw.
The artist is Esra Roise. The thing about her art that captured my interest was the use black and white illustrations partenered with a touch of watercolors. I love the contrast and ofcourse the attention to detail. Definitely worth a look see.

The Blog of a College Freshman

As the title states, this is about to become the blog of a college freshman {other than the fact that i.ll be in college for the first time, nothing will really change}.I start college in a couple weeks and i am so excited. Compared to everyone else i completely wasted my summer days by sleeping in and staying up late... doing nothing.

I can.t wait to start. I recieved my financial aid and my housing info today, which helped me realize how close that day is coming.

At first, i was so excited and happy that i got into a really good college, but a random feeling of inferiority seems to show its ugly head once in a while. Though i got into the college, i didn.t make it into any programs including the prestigious honors program. This may sound pretentious, but i.ve been an honors student all my life, and becoming a beyond regular student is new for me. Having all my friends get into these programs didn.t help much either.

This feeling made me realize that i should.ve tried harder these past four years, but it.s too late now.

So, to eliminate this annoying feeling of inferiority, i.m going to make the best of my situation and try my best to succeed anyway. I.m proud to say i tend to learn from my mistakes {though new ones keep coming}. I can.t wait to take on this challenge.

Bloglovin

I.m on Bloglovin now!
It.s going to take me a while to figure out what it.s for...
but i.m up for the challenge of not being lazy.

Meteor Shower

Tonight will be a magical night. The Perseid meteor shower is supposed to be visible tonight and tomorrow in the wee hours of the night. I am more than anxious to see this beautiful spectacle since i missed the once in a lifetime solar eclipse. No shooting stars yet, but i wont give up hope. Besides. There.s always tomorrow.
